When it comes to taste and panache, K1 is a leader by kilometres! Now nearing three decades of active performance, the 50 year-old musician has learnt over the years that it pays to know what counts in the lexicon of style. And last week, he proved he still holds the ace when he introduced select friends to his new pet- an uber-cool five-seater salon exclusively customized for him. The black sedan carries the bold emblem K1 DE ULTIMATE. And all over it, from the trunk to the carpets, doors and roof, the logo K1 is proudly displayed.  In a video recording exclusively obtained by Glitz beats, the revolutionary fuji star is seen dancing to Ayinde Barrister’s music blarring from the car’s speakers, as he gives thanks to God and invites his guests to join him in the car. He then hops in, takes his stunned guests on a tour of the car – pimp my ride style- and explains the working on the different gadgets.  A source close to K1 told us the car was manufactured exclusively for him by Magnum motors (a Chicago-based auto manufacturing company) and customized by BMG in New York.  ‘It’s a K1 special edition. It comes with complete mobile entertainment station, with an iPod that can take 20,000 songs and videos’. As he opnes the bonnet to reveal the 5.7L V8 Hemi engine, K1 tells the camera, ‘what I like about the engine is that it makes no noise at all’.  It could not immediately be confirmed if the car is bullet-proof.  It’s obvious the acclaimed King of Fuji (that’s the registration number by the way) is not keen about negotiating his comfort. Long before now, he had established himself as a luxury-conscious individual, with posh homes in London, Canada and the US. His Okota (in Isolo, Lagos) home is a display of opulence, and it may be the place to visit, if you’re doing a study on eye-popping automobiles… Formerly known as Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, and later King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall the 1st, K 1 is regarded as the pioneer is contemporary Fuji music. Taking a cue from Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (his former boss), he romanticiced Fuji music at an early age, understanding the elements and creating a style that’ll stand him out. And with his first major hit ‘Talazo ‘84’, it became clear he was the anointed one that’ll take the genre into the future. He soon introduced modern musical instruments, thus cultivating the followership of a young, hip audience, as well as inspiring a generation of Fuji musicians who have all established thriving careers for themselves.
